As Majestics we stand together as one. Forming a circle of Unity. Although we have travelled different paths, We dance together so beautifully. Keep every memory in your heart, And dance each performance with all you have. Cause we are sisters. Now and forever. And always proud to be a Mav.
Each Majestic, through the development of dance techniques, leadership skill and self-discipline and esteem, will foster good fellowship and build school spirit within our school and community. Our team will encourage loyalty, high morals and standards among its members; objectives that will prepare each member for the future. The Majestic Dance Team will fulfill it's purpose for the benefit of McNeil High School and the community of Round Rock Independent School District.
Rules and Regulations
As a member of the Majestics, you must abide by all of the rules and regulations beginning on the date you successfully pass the audition. Membership on the team does not automatically qualify the member to dance with the team in every performance. Each girl will audition for every team performance. To qualify to dance with the team, each member must have mastered the dance steps and perform it with perfected dance technique.
As a member of Majestics, each young lady must abide by a certain set of rules and regulations. This high code of conduct includes academic achievement as well as lady like and appropriate behavior in and out of Majestics.
Any student may request a try-out application from the Directors during the announced sign-up period. A mandatory audition meeting is held prior to the auditions, for students who are interested, to sign-up and secure a place for the try-out process. Auditions shall be held during the Fall semester of the school year.
Length of Membership
A member of the team may remain a member until she graduates as long as all the rules and regulations are met. Regardless of classification, once a student chooses to drop off the team, it will be up to the directors' and administrators' discretion whether she will be allowed back on the team.
Freshman, Sophomores, and Junior students may audition for the team in the fall. Auditions include jazz, kick, and lyrical styles of dance, as well as turn, leap, kick, and split technique. The students will be selected by an independent panel of judges. Once selected, the students will be placed into a "New Majestic" class for the Spring semester and will officially step on the team in May.

Brooke Solomon was born and raised in the Austin area. She grew up in multiple local studios and has training in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip-hop, and lyrical/contemporary genres. Mrs. Solomon graduated from Pflugerville High school in 2001 where she was a four year member of the Lady Panther Dance Team. She was an officer for 3 years including Lieutenant her sophomore year and Colonel both her junior and senior years.
Mrs. Solomon went to Sam Houston State University on a dance scholarship, and she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Dance in 2005. While in college she taught at In Step Dance and Performing Arts Center in The Woodlands, TX for four years and was the assistant director of their company, as well as a choreographer. She has had the opportunity to train under several master teachers from all over the country.
Mrs. Solomon travels to teach and choreograph for schools all over Texas. She has worked for Crowd Pleasers on and off since graduating from high school and is currently a judge.
Since graduating from college she has directed dance teams at both the high school and middle school levels. She is currently in her 11th year of teaching and directing. She has a passion for dance education and choreography. She loves to continue to educate herself so that her students are in touch with the most current dance trends and styles. Mrs. Solomon is beyond proud to be the director of the McNeil Majestics.
Alexandra Starnes began dancing at the age of six at Shirley McPhail School of Dance in Austin. Her first teacher Ms. Allison introduced her to the world of dance that has opened up so many doors for her throughout her adult life. She was a member of SMSD’S Performing Troupe for several years where she got to perform at various places all over the U.S. It was during her time at SMSD where she was awarded the Greg Russell Scholarship at Encore as well as a runner up for a TATD scholarship.
When Mrs. Starnes was a freshman in high school, she auditioned to become a McNeil Majestic where she danced on the drill team for three years. She served her junior year as Major and was privileged enough to serve her senior year as Colonel. It was during this time that her love and passion for dance really evolved.
After she graduated from McNeil High School, Mrs. Starnes became a University of Texas Roustabout, a pre-professional dance company based out of UT. In May of 2011 she decided to audition for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, a dream of hers since she was young girl. Out of the hundreds of women that auditioned and two grueling months of training camp, Mrs. Starnes was one of the 17 young women selected that year to be a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader. After cheering for two amazing years, she attended Texas State University to receive her BFA in Dance to become a drill team director and dance educator.
Mrs. Starnes is thrilled to be back “home” at McNeil.
The Booster Club was formed shortly after the team was established. It raises money to support the team by defraying part of the cost of costumes, stage props, and transportation. It meets monthly during the year and works on special fund raising projects throughout the year.
The financial success of the Booster Club program is due to the overwhelming support of Majestic parents and family sponsors volunteering their special skills and talents to fund raising events. Volunteers to staff concession stands at the Dell Diamond, become short order cooks, project managers for the arts & crafts show and dance contests. They design and sell mums, direct traffic, and secure doors during events. There is always a great need for help throughout the year, and our Majestic families make new friends in the process.
Booster Club Leadership
The booster club elects a Board of Directors to provide leadership and governance. The Board of Directors chair various fund raising projects, account for the finances, record the history of the Majestics through film and photography, and maintain the web site. They also work closely with the Majestic Directors to help insure the success of the Majestics program at McNeil High School. The Booster Club Executive Board positions include:
In the fall of 1992, McNeil High School opened the doors as RRISD's 3rd high school and the Majestic Dance team was formed under the direction of Mrs. Denise Cochran. Mrs. Cochran named the team and designed their beautiful field uniform that still exists today. The team originated with 20 dancers and 2 managers. The original logo for our team was designed by our very first officer line.
